I have more unfinished projects today than ever before.

At first, I blamed myself.

Too many ideas.

Too many distractions.

Not enough focus.

But I think something else is happening.

Reels reduced the time between opening an app and getting a dopamine hit.

Vibe coding is doing the same thing to building products.

A few years ago, an idea was just an idea. You had to spend days or weeks before seeing something tangible. The reward came later.

Today, I can describe an idea to an AI coding agent and have a working prototype in minutes.

A dashboard appears.

An API works.

A feature comes alive.

The dopamine arrives almost instantly.

The interesting part is that my brain often struggles to distinguish between two very different things:

Building a valuable product.

Watching a product get built.

Both feel like progress.

That’s the trap.

Every prototype feels promising.

Every demo feels like momentum.

Every new project feels worth pursuing.

So I start another one.

And then another.

And then another.

Just like watching one more Reel.

The hard part of building a business was never getting the first screen working. It was understanding customers, earning trust, fixing problems, and staying committed long after the initial excitement disappeared.

AI has compressed the time between idea and prototype.

It has not compressed the time between prototype and business.

AI has made starting a product feel effortless.

Finishing one still feels exactly the same.

Maybe that’s where the real moat is now.
